Viewpoint on Battery Tech
Battery Tech is overdue for an overhaul. Current Tech doesn’t allow the range or power the demands we take for granted.
Interesting insights into the Bosch battery tech which will be driving #Hybrid and #ALLEectric Vehichles – coming soon to a vehicle near you. It’s about the size of a shoebox. I can think of many applications where this would be useful.
Battery tech which will be driving #Hybrid and #ALLEectric Vehichles is bound to change radically over the next decade. Make the most of the opportunity.
Highlights from Bosch’s 48 Volt Battery News
Here are some of the key points from their article: Ready for a reVOL(T)ution?
At some point in the near future, a number of automakers intend to switch over to producing nothing but electrified cars. For many of these electrified vehicles, however, the internal combustion engine will remain the primary powertrain.
Bosch predicts that the annual share of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles equipped with 48-volt systems will rise from 5 to 20 percent between 2020 and 2025.
Other points covered the fact that their battery technology is efficient to 75C (much higher than current lithium-ion cells battery tech).
Processors that control highly automated systems need a lot of power. The coming generation of vehicles will rely heavily on 48-volt systems. This will provide the higher voltage They require.
Whatever happens, the future will arrive, eventually. Invest your money wisely.
Final Thoughts on Batteries
Governments will be under pressure to lower carbon emissions. Over the next decade, many difficult, unpopular decisions will need to be made. Battery wars are probably the last thing we all need.
I think we owe it to ourselves to have sensible conversations about this? Let’s explore the best options are going forward.
